All dogs are awesome, but some come with a special purpose

For Danae, that boy was Ollie.

For Belinda, it was Pluto.

Pluto was already 10 years old when Belinda moved from Los Angeles to Brazil and learned how complicated the international transportation of a big dog can be.

Turning the problem into an adventure was Danae's idea. She suggested they all take a cross-country trip to Miami, giving Pluto the opportunity to leave his mark everywhere from Santa Fe to New Orleans, before the shortest possible direct flight to Brazil.

Danae then took a new job in a new town, just one month before the pandemic hit, and suddenly found herself sheltering in place and completely isolated.
Her loneliness was salved by Ollie, a bouncing baby Boxer who got her up in the morning, made her dress and leave the house, and essentially forced some structure into the day.

Fast-forward three years

Belinda's relationship in Brazil had become controlling and abusive. Pluto remained her solace and only friend, but he was old by then. His legs were wobbly and his eyes were dim, but still he hung on — for her.

Pluto sensed that Belinda wasn't ready to cope without him, and he did his best till the very end.It was with Danae's help that Belinda finally escaped back to the U.S. and took great comfort in the all-day-every-day delight in life that defined Ollie.

Friends together again, Danae and Belinda talked, over many glasses of wine — about the healing philosophy they christened "The Zen of Dog":

Essentially the art of uncomplicated joy, of remembering that simple goodness does exist and that "now" can be enough. We hope that vibe comes through in our brand and in our fabulous charm collars.
