Live Like Someone Left the Gate Open

You know that moment when your dog hears the jingle of keys or sees you lace up your shoes, and suddenly they’re bouncing like a kangaroo who’s had too much coffee? That’s pure, unfiltered joy. They don’t overthink it. They don’t ask, “Where are we going?” or “What’s the agenda for today?” They just know it’s time for an adventure.

Why don’t we do that more? Imagine waking up every day with that same excitement: “What fun things could happen today? What snacks will I find?” Dogs know how to turn every little outing—whether it’s a run in the park or just a walk around the block—into a celebration. So maybe, just maybe, we could learn to live a little more like them. Wake up, smell the fresh air (maybe avoid the hydrants), and embrace life with your whole being. Who knows? It might be the best day of your life. And even if it’s not, you’ll at least get to run really fast for no reason. That’s something, right?
